Forest Creek Pool Rules

The following rules and regulations have been adopted by the Board of Directors for the safety and comfort of all of our members. The Pool Managers and their staff have been authorized to enforce these regulations and to make on-the-spot decisions in all matters affecting the safe, sanitary operation of the pool. The Pool Managers, or in their absence the lifeguards, may suspend pool privileges to any individual(s) for violations of these regulations. Any complaints shall be addressed in writing to the Pool Committee, who will bring your complaints before the Board of Directors.  Parents please review these rules with your children.

  1. No person may use the pool unless it is officially open and the lifeguards or attendant are on duty.

  2. All instructions given by the lifeguards are to be followed. Failure to follow the pool rules will be handled with a 1-2-3 system.

    1. First occurrence: 10-minute timeout;

    2. Second occurrence: 24-hour suspension of pool privileges;

    3. Third occurrence: one-week (seven full days) suspension of pool privileges.

    4. Any subsequent problems which cannot be resolved will result in the revocation of pool privileges for up to 30 days.

  3. Admission to the pool may be denied for any of the following reasons: intoxication, open sores, wounds, skin infections, and nasal or ear discharges, or any condition or evidence, which in the opinion of the manager/lifeguard would jeopardize the health and safety of the membership.

  4. Swimmers under 12 must be accompanied by a member who is at least 16 years of age or older.  FCP is an unguarded pool.  Therefore, swimming will be at one's own risk.

  5. One person is allowed on the slide at a time. This includes the steps to the slide. Please wait for the water area under the slide to clear before sliding. Sliders must slide feet first.

  6. No running allowed. Patrons must walk in the pool and restroom areas.

  7. Please do not loiter in the restroom areas. Small children should be supervised when using the restroom or showers.

  8. Serious injury and paralysis can occur if diving in shallow water. Therefore, diving is permitted only in the deep end of the diving well. Jumpers and divers must go straight off the board (no jumping to the ladder). No flips or back dives from the pool deck.

  9. The deep end of the pool may be closed at patron request to allow for group games.

  10. Deep end pool will be closed except during hours designated by the pool.

  11. Running, pushing, causing undue disturbance, or any conduct that may endanger the welfare of self or other patrons is prohibited.

  12. Stairs: Please do not block the stairs entrance/exit handrail. Jumping over steps from the pool deck is not allowed. In the water, you may push off and swim from pool steps. Parents with children: The steps may give your children a false sense of security in the water. Please stay within an arm’s reach of your child in the pool.

  13. Children under 5 years of age or non-swimmers must be supervised by a responsible adult who is in the water and within arms’ reach of the child. Persons unable to pass a swim test must stay in water that is not over their shoulders.

  14. Coast Guard-approved flotation devices will be permitted in shallow water at the manager’s/guard’s discretion. An adult must be within arms’ reach of the child. Floatation devices such as inner tubes and arm floaties are not permitted. No device whether “officially approved” or not will prevent drowning.  No float rings, rafts or inflated arm rings will be allowed.

  15. Proper swimming attire must be worn and include swimsuits, caps, goggles, and water shoes. No gym shorts, t-shirts, cut-off’s or sports bras or bras are allowed.

  16. Infants/children not toilet-trained must wear swim diapers under swimsuits. No diapers please. We prefer if in a diaper to have a plastic bloomer over the top for fecal purposes.

  17. Spitting, blowing of nose into the pool or onto deck, spouting water, improper public displays of affection, and profanity are prohibited.

  18. Inflatable beach balls/basketballs/volleyballs/noodles are allowed in the pool at the manager’s discretion.

  19. Do not hold onto the diving board, ropes, volleyball or basketball nets or basketball goal rims.

  20. Splash Pad is for ages 9 years and younger only.  Older must be accompanied by a parent.  Rough play is not allowed in splash pad and any child will be asked to be removed when necessary.

  21. Food and drinks are permitted on the food deck, but must be kept a minimum of four feet from the pool. Please clean any spills as they occur and place trash in waste containers. Please do not place personal items (pool bags, towels, etc.) on the tables. These are reserved for patrons who are eating. No gum is allowed in the pool area.

  22. Glass containers or breakable objects of any kind are not permitted in the pool area, restrooms, or outside deck.

  23. No alcohol is permitted.

  24. All injuries occurring within the pool area or restrooms must be reported to the manager on duty immediately.

  25. Children’s strollers must remain at least 5 feet from the side of the pool.

  26. Smoking is not permitted inside the fenced pool area or within 20 feet of the pool fence.

  27. No animals inside the pool area.

  28. The Forest Creek Pool assumes no liability for the loss or theft of a member’s personal belongings. Items left in the pool area at the end of the day will be placed in the pool’s lost and found.

  29. The pool manager or lifeguard may close any portion of or the entire pool complex for any safety or maintenance reason. In the event of thunder/lightning, the pool will be cleared immediately and remain closed until 30 minutes after the threat has passed.

  30. Swimmers should shower before entering the pool. Please help us to conserve water by keeping your shower time to three minutes or less per club visit.

  31. Please keep deck chairs at least 6 feet from lifeguard stands. No one except for lifeguards is permitted on the lifeguard stands.  No speaking to the lifeguard or loitering when on duty.

  32. Whistle blows:

    1. One whistle—violation of a rule, pay attention to the lifeguard

    2. Three whistle blows—emergency! Exit the water immediately and move away from the pool. Listen for further directions from the lifeguard or pool manager.
